In the 1920’s Wellesley was considered to be one of the primary suburbs of the city of Boston and became a major shopping area. The town prospered throughout the 20th century. In Wellesley today, you can walk through the historic town to see historic homes and public buildings, as well as hiking or biking along the nature trails. Wellesley is also home to Wellesley College, Babson College and Massachusetts Bay Community College which are host to museums and botanicl gardens.
