The boundaries of the city extended into Medway and Millis in the past. Later on, the city got its new boundary. Great damage occurred in the year 1675 when, during an uprising, Native Americans burnt down the mills and barns. In Medfield today, you can go hiking or biking along the nature trails. Fishing opportunity is available along plentiful riverbeds and ponds. The remnants of the burnt Peak House is a popular tourist spot, and there are art galleries and museums around Medfield which speak of the rich heritage of the area.
